Foosball is Coming Home!

Chester chosen to relaunch a very British game

As the World Cup warms up, a dynamic Chester-based company is re-launching foosball (formerly table football) on the UK stage and the pubs and leisure clubs of Chester and North Wales are where it is kicking off.

Having recently secured UK distribution rights for the world leading professional 'Fireball' table, Foosball UK is confident a new generation of Brits will soon take up the sport.

Foosball UK Director, Chris Herbert says: "Like so many sports, Foosball was invented here but mastered elsewhere. It's absolutely massive in the US and Europe where it’s common to make a healthy living out of the sport."

"The problem in the UK has been the quality of the tables, which were always poor but not any more. Now the Fireball has landed and we're determined to see it well used."

"The playability of the table is far superior to its predecessors and at 50p a go players will soon see what skills are possible with a bit of practice."

And players can cash in on their skills through regular Foosball UK monthly tournaments taking place at every venue where a Fireball is located.

Despite its relative infancy, the sport has gained a cult following at universities in the South but, armed with quality Fireball tables, Foosball UK is confident the North West and the rest of country will follow suit.

"The entertainment industry needs a shot in the arm and we're going to provide it with shots from the arm," added Mickle Trafford born, Chris.

He is joined in this venture by brother Mike Herbert and friends Jonathan May, Duncan Knox and Jamie Hoare.

The company ultimately aims to promote the sport nationally at all levels from students to old school players from the 70s so look out for it on your travels. This inclusive sport welcomes everybody.
